SHERU

‘Sheru’ is our oldest “street pet”. He was initially looked after by a neighbour and then became ‘homeless’ when they moved away about 9-10 years ago. For some time he had a rather nomadic existence, depending upon the occasional kindness of humans for food and was looked after by neighbouring guards. He gradually began to come over and now comes regularly around 7am for his food. He is wary of humans and though will give an affectionate and grateful wag of his tail and even allow a pet or two, will not tolerate more proximity. A few years ago, he developed a venereal infection (TVT) and one had to use subterfuge and also some force, to get him treated. He is a rather grand old man- we are not sure of his exact age, but he must be at least 12 years old- and occasionally will prefer to eat lying down!
